Nationality: Country that issued your passport, which may differ from your country of residence

If your passport is damaged, name has changed (due to marriage, legal change, or transliteration differences), or will expire within 6 months, resolve these issues before submitting the TWAC. An invalid passport will be rejected at Taiwan immigration regardless of having a valid TWAC.

Flight Information Requirements

The TWAC asks for your arrival flight details:

Flight number: The airline code and number (e.g., CI 101, CX 409, BR 15, UA 871)
Arrival date: The date your flight lands in Taiwan, not the departure date from your origin
Airline name: Often auto-populated from the flight number, but verify it

If you have a connecting flight that arrives in Taiwan, enter the flight that actually lands in Taiwan. For example, if you fly from London to Hong Kong on BA 31, then Hong Kong to Taipei on CX 409, enter CX 409 as your Taiwan arrival flight.

What If You Do Not Have a Flight Yet?

You cannot submit the TWAC without a flight number. Book your flight first, then submit the TWAC within the 7-day pre-arrival window. If your flight changes after submission, resubmit with the new flight number.

Accommodation Information

Every TWAC submission requires a Taiwan accommodation address:

As of recent policy updates, the separate health declaration that was required during the COVID-19 pandemic has been integrated into or eliminated from the standard TWAC process. Most travelers no longer need to provide health-specific information beyond what is in the standard TWAC form.

If Taiwan reinstates health declarations due to new outbreaks, the TWAC portal will include additional fields. Always check the official portal for the most current requirements before your trip.

Can I use a temporary or emergency passport for the TWAC?

Temporary and emergency passports may be accepted for TWAC submission, but entry to Taiwan is at the discretion of immigration officers. Some countries issue emergency travel documents for one-way travel home – these may not qualify for visa-free entry to Taiwan. Do I need travel insurance to enter Taiwan?
